Fitz Architects were appointed to assist with the design and construction of a new executive home at Ramside Park, Durham, which is an executive self-build housing development. The site is located to the rear of the Ramside Hall Spa and Golf course as part of a development of 21 plots. We were required to achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes accreditation of Level 4, which included thermal improvements over and above standard building control requirements and also achieve a CO2 reduction of 25%.
Through numerous meetings with the client, local authority building control and the builder we were able to deliver this family home on time and also on budget.
Attention to detail was at the forefront of this project to ensure all aspects of the design had been thought through and implemented on site correctly. This involved a substantial levelling exercise due to the topography of the site.
